Nestled between the Gulf of Mexico and the protected waters of Sarasota Bay, the Sarasota Sailing Squadron (SSS) is recognized as one of the finest and friendliest Sailing venues in the State of Florida, if not the entire Country.
The Sarasota Multihull Program started in 2011, it began with a Nacra infusion F18 and a Nacra 20. These were the boats the young sailors trained for the 2011 US Sailing Youth Multihull Championship. Through the help of the coaches, Sarasota Youth Sailing (SYS), and the Buzzelli Foundation and many others, the multihull program was able to become what it is today. The multihull sailors have competed in places all over the nation: California, Wisconsin, Massachusetts, Georgia, Texas, North Carolina and Rhode Island and at many regattas in Florida. The Sarasota Youth Sailing has sent multihull sailors to the last three ISAF Youth World Championship in Ireland, Cypress and Portugal. In 2014 ISAF Youth World Championship they finished in 4th place.
The multihull program at SYS continues to growth as more young sailors discover the trills and challenges of sailing these fast boats. The SYS has committed to offer great training and boats, at the moment there are three F16s and two F18s.
